We make sustainable living affordable for everyone. Many Flemish homes consume energy. We buy homes, especially in central cities, and make them more energy efficient. We tackle the outer shell so that energy no longer literally flies and we tackle the techniques to make the home energy efficient.
Flemish single-family homes receive an E-label on average, apartments a C-label. This is not surprising, because no less than 61% of all Belgian homes date from before 1970. And those older houses consume up to 50% more due to the lack of roof insulation or double glazing. The result? Energy wastage and sky-high energy bills.
At Yally, we aim to make our properties 40% more energy efficient. We upgrade homes that currently have an energy label D, E or F to A, B or C. We tackle the outer shell so that energy is no longer lost and optimize the heating techniques to make the home energy efficient.< /p>
Upgrading the EPC value of a home requires investments. However, these interventions are not affordable or feasible for everyone. For example, a lot of real estate continues to devour energy untouched. There is a need for a real renovation revolution. Yally wants to play a part in it.
According to the Renovation Pact of the Flemish Government, all Flemish houses must be energy efficient by 2050. This means that each house may have a maximum E-level of 60, such as a house that was built in 2015. Yally helps to realize those ambitions, for a more liveable and energy-efficient society.
Many mayors also signed a covenant on a European initiative. No less than 293 Flemish mayors committed themselves in this way to emit 40% less greenhouse gases by 2030.
